I am involved with a camera club and have put together a website for the club.  I am going to launch the SMF forums soon but I would like to remove the download link that appears under an attached file.  Even though there's countless ways to copy an image from a website, I don't think the members would like the idea of other people being able to directly download their images from the forums.  Thanks

in Display.template.php find and remove:
echo '
<a href="' . $attachment['href'] . '"><img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/icons/clip.gif" align="middle" alt="*" border="0" />&nbsp;' . $attachment['name'] . '</a> (', $attachment['size'], ($attachment['is_image'] ? ', ' . $attachment['width'] . 'x' . $attachment['height'] . ' - ' . $txt['attach_viewed'] : ' - ' . $txt['attach_downloaded']) . ' ' . $attachment['downloads'] . ' ' . $txt['attach_times'] . '.)<br />';

but note that by doing this you cant show other downloads i.e. none image.
Really sorry .. real life is demanding my full attention .. will be back soon hopefully :)
