Custom titles

Is there a way I can keep my members from changing their own titles?  I want to have it set as something (ie: supporter) but I don't want people to change it.

there should be something in features and options about disabling that. with that option in use the admin can still change it'

I'm having title issue's too, but I don't think the users can change them.

When I title my shout box and banner links it shows up as the following for me.

Shout box, only good for 2 sentence's please make longer posts in forums

And that's how I see it logged in under my user name. However if I log in as a test user or as a guest it only say's Shout Box

My users are posting long posts in the shout box and the post is getting cut off at 2 sentence's and their getting mad.

The banner links are the same way. They say one thing in the control panel and I see them that way on the board, but as a guest they say something different.

When I disable it, I can't even make a change, it takes that option away completely.
