Is there a way to do this, rather than keeping the images in posts in their separate paragraphs?

I would like to be able to align the images to the left or the right with the text going around it ...   :-[

In your style sheet look for:
img {style}

If it isn't there you will have to add it.
This way you can edit the style for all the images, which can control that kind of things.
You would have to be more specific in what you want to be able to code something useful.

Not that I know of.  But if in a post you might be able to put it all in a table.  Have the image in the first cell and then the text in the next cell

Example below.

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

More text here, and here and here and here.
