I have a sql database as I use smf 1.1.4

after I upgrade to smf 2.0 how do I change my database from sql to postgresql.

As far as I know, we don't have a conversion tool ready yet. However, as we are still in the beta phase and some of the database details are still being worked on, that isn't to be unexpected.

I imagine some tools may be written by us although as Motoko-Chan says we are still in beta :). There are some good MySQL > PostgreSQL programs available which may work (although you'll have to compare datatypes with the install.sql file for best performance) :)

There will be no tool for converting from mysql to postgresql written by SM, there may however be tools available on the internet for this.
I'm only a half geek really...

I want to start a new forum and now we have smf 1.1.4 I will have sql database.
I want postgresql
so I think now maybe I will start my forum after smf 2.0 is released so that I have postgresql.
