How to run this board on my system ? (Simulation)

Hi

I am a newcomer to this. totally stranger to php.

But installed and running another free forum phpbb.

like this forum features and looks, so want to convert to this,

But one basic issue ,

How can I run this board on my system and see the changes I made?

is it possible? How can I run this php file in any IDE?

There must be some setup to run this board or a php file during development. What is that which suits my purpose for modifying  this forum?

Modification means ranks, avathars, such things I have to set up no?

you mean as far as running a non-public test/dev install?

Probably could use something like xammp or easyphp which would allow you to simulate a hosting environment

exactly! I want to run my board on my pc and see the changes I made as it is running on the server. Should be able to get database from real server in my pc ,so that board is real. Then I make changes and upload. Changes means simple things like skin avatars ranks etc.

will look for xamp and easy php
