including link in welcome email

Hi, I've tried searching the forum for the answer to my quiery, I would like to send a download link for all new members for a bonus product and want to know how include a working link into the welcome text. Any ideas?

I think in the current version there's no feature to edit outgoing emails.

However, you can open the file: /Themes/default/languages/Login.english.php and edit the contents of $txt['register_activate_message'] (activation request email) or $txt['register_immediate_message'] (welcome email).

Be careful when putting html codes that contains single quotes (')

Thanks for your help and yes, I had traced down login-english.php and had changed the wording of the text, however, I was just wondering about putting an ahref link in there and the correct syntax to use?

You where able to track it around but do not know how to add a simple a href link
<a href="http://site.com/path/file.ext">Link name</a>

Links wont work on all email clients, as some disable html.
