What about a discussbot without bridge?

I'm looking for alternatives and I was thinking if it could be possible to use a "discussbot" without the bridge.

I think that the discussbot (and a custom theme) could work for people like me.

I know that maybe the discussbot needs to be rewritten but... is it "legal"?
