Topic Bumping

I remember that some forum I installed once had a feature that enabled you to bump the topic (as in, make it seem like someone's posted in it). To avoid spamming, you could have a setting that makes it only available for bumping every xx hours you set.

Is it possible?

To my knowledge there is no such feature for SMF. I searched the mod site already, but you might want to search the community to see if you can find more info.

Actually, I meant could it be created as a mod or a future option? I think it was phpBB or something that had it - but I'm not entirely sure.

Haha, well on my forum; generally I have important announcements that people never seem to see. When I ask them why they haven't read them yet, they say that they didn't realise there was a new post there <.<

I would love to have this as a mod too. Newsletters arent always a good thing. You send out too many of them and the next you know (or actually dont know) you are being blocked as spam. Though I suppose it does depend on your memberbase.

I think the ability to a bump a topic without replying to it would be fantastic!

IPB also has this, and I used it a lot before moving to SMF. I would also like this mod to be done, and I would surely use it
