I am trying to find a mod that allows ubbc or bbc code in member's custom titles, because I gave a member in my forum a warning, and it was in red color, but of course the ubbc showed.

Should only the admin allowed to do this or should each user allowed to do this? :)

This is seriously a mod that is really needed. Can someone please make one?

writerrobert680

Why doesn't anyone want to help make this very useful mod?

did you check out the visual warning mod?  You can set it so that only admins can see the warnings

I still want ubbc in the custom title. :

This will do bbcode in custom titles. HOWEVER everyone can use bbcode (including normal members).
I don't know of a simple way to make it so only admins are use it.
Also note they can use ANY bbcode which is enabled on your forum. (eg tables/lists/flash/imgs)

OPEN Load.php
FIND
'title' => !empty($modSettings['titlesEnable']) ? $profile['usertitle'] : '',

REPLACE
'title' => !empty($modSettings['titlesEnable']) ? parse_bbc($profile['usertitle']) : '',

Thanks, also if you can, can you try to figure out how to set it so that it can only work with staff only? :)

Why does no one find this mod request of importance? If you want to have a member's warning "stand out", having it bold and colored red could help a lot. It's simply allowing the custom title to use ubbs code, that is all that is needed. It's not like you have to re-code the whole custom title feature, do you not?

And why does no one find the importance of a custom title standing out? I know a few other forum providers that allow it and yet this one doesn't? This feature could be very useful, if you could allow ubbc code in the custom title...

karlbenson

You can do the bbcode as I posted above.

Its that SMF isn't very easy to enable the use of bbcode on a per-membergroup basis.

using isAllowedTo, you might be able to hook it via permissions.

But all you need to do is add a code or something that enables UBBC and then one that checks to see if member is staff or not...

karlbenson

No actually its not.
Whilst that would be true to showing something.

What you want is a check that removes the bbcode if not a staff member.

SMF by default saves bbcode exactly the same whether you are an admin or a guest. Its only when it comes to VIEWING it that its converted to html.

Do a search on my [dice] mod posted a couple weeks ago and you'll find the part of Subs-Post.php that will do pre-processing of BBC before saving to the database.

You could always just use the Custom Profile Fields mod, add a new field that's editable only by admins, then make it show up on the post details and allow BBC. Then you'd have something that would work the same, without messing with the custom title.

Yeah, I guess. I'm using that right now.

Now that SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public is out, you can probably do the same thing with the Warning system that's built in.
