Use TinyMCE or other advanced controls for posting

It would be nice if there was TinyMCE or something similar integrated, so that people could make more advanced looking posts.

Also, this means you could "paste" contents in and not loose the formatting!

2.0 already has a WYSIWYG editor, and you can test it here.
No WYSIWYG editor will be as advanced as normal BBCodes though!

Well the WYSIWYG editor used "here" isn't advanced at all... what i'm talking about is being able to copy a line of bold text for example, and when you paste it in here, it remains bold...

basically, being able to retain formatting etc would be nice

i can understand ppl saying "it's not perfect", but not simply clone the vBulletin version for SMF?
i've tried the wysiwig editor for SMF v2.... and it's pretty useless, to be honest.
a mod either works 100%, or it doesnt.
having to go through a couple dozen lines to correct the formatting is pointless, so ppl will simply not use it in the first place, for fear of screwing up the entire attempted post.

that's what makes vB such a cool attraction: the editor works 100% compared to others.

You can't just clone someone elses copyright works.
It is a work in progress, although I wouldn't describe it as useless.

I tell you now, its not an easy thing to develop.
