I regularly backup my SMF site through cPanel using the Backup feature. So I am backing up my files by saving the MySQL.

Is there any other thing that I need to back up? Just in case?

In the admin of SMF, there's an option of saving the forum tables, is this the same backup I am doing on MySQL?

If you back-up the whole MYSQL your site can be recovered if anything goes wrong. If you mod your SMF heavily it would be good to save the actual forum too.  All data is stored in MYSQL and all things that process and handle the data is php/html ect.

Yes it is the same btw.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Krissy. How to save the whole forum? Is it done through Admin of SMF? Yes, I have MODs but not many.

Making a database backup will protect your member data and posts.

If you want to be even better, keep a backup of the actual SMF files. You should be able to do this through cPanel, or simply download via FTP.
