Default hide email address from public

I am not familiar with this, so I'm asking. I would like that all members of my forum would have a default "hide email address from public". How can I automate this option for all members?

Personally I use the SMF user email system
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=371

Which allows the sending on email without every revealing the email addresses.

Karl, my concern is that there are members who just register in my forum site with the hope of seeing the email address of another member. Members don't check this option and I do it manually in all their profiles.
