Its more false.

You said yourself that you got it running on SMF 1.1.4. So I cant see why anyone else cant. But if you use version_emulate, you can trick the package manager into thinking that you're using an older version as many mods remain compatible within a series even though they don't appear to be compatible.

SMFShop should work fine on SMF 1.1.4. What errors are you encountering?

Not needed, as far as I can remember, I have the 1.1.1-1.1.99 range on the <install> tag
