Ok, i did a successful coversion from phpBB2 everything looked nice, I did the repair setting file too. but when someone goes to login they get the error after putting in there info:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cf/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

this is resolved by just retyping in the url then the cookie takes and your able to use the forums regularly.  any clue how to fix this?

Skuggi

oh yea this may help here is the URL it points to.

http://www.sarcasm-inc.net/cf/index.php?action=login2;sa=check;id=2 [nofollow]

the forum is installed to http://www.sarcasm-inc.net [nofollow]

with phpBB2 getting hacked and virused etc. I really need this conversion to work so any help would be awesome.

Nope this happened with the default theme too.  Dunno about registration but the login is where the problem is cause i get them dumb errors.  I can access the index.php directly its something in the redirect after you select login, is there a list of the chmods on the files anywhere so i can go over all of them?

Skuggi

This error happens anytime the forum trys to access somethign through index.php.

I just tried to modify a category title and got the same error the url was
http://www.sarcasm-inc.net/cf/index.php?action=manageboards;sa=cat;ID_CAT=2 [nofollow]

It does not look like your server likes the ;'s in the url

Skuggi

um, thats not good, how would i ask my provider to fix that?

Skuggi

ok, that gave me an idea, it works if i use a colon : how would i go about switching the semis to fulls?

Jerry

I don't think its colons you need to use ;) try &. I am not sure how to change the ;'s to &'s instead we would have to wait for unknown or some one with similar knowledge to find this topic. Sounds like your host does not have their server configured correctly though. . .

yea your right about the and the : didnt work exactly how I thought :p I'm rummaging through the index.php and settings.php to hope and find where it says how the URLs work and then if I find that i can set it to &s which work perfectly.  Hopefully a SMF genius will pop up round here before new year if i cant find it  :)

This is another SNORT problem.  If you search for "snort" I'm pretty sure you'll find a topic about a fix ;).

Skuggi

Just got this back from my provider:

We do not use the SNORT operating system or the SNORT software. Our techs don't have any ideas. Does the developer?

[Unknown]

Essentially, you're getting a 403 because there's a ";id=" in the URL.  This is caused by an antiquated SNORT rule... I suppose it's possible it could be caused by other security/firewall software, but I haven't heard of it.

I mean this software:
http://www.snort.org/
The Open Source Network Intrusion Detection System

Skuggi

the host says they dont use SNORT and that theres nothing that they can find blocking ";id="  ::)

where is it in the code that puts in the ";id="  so i can change it over to "&id="

Skuggi

Ok, got at least the main login bug fixed by going in all the files looking for ;id and changing it to &id.

Files changed were:
Sources/
Load.php
Display.php
LogInOut.php
ManageMembers.php
Register.php
Subs.php
Themes.php

Thats all working fine now, but I am still having the bug with when I goto modify category topics the url is:

http://www.sarcasm-inc.net/cf/index.php?action=manageboards;sa=cat;ID_CAT=2 [nofollow]

I cant find in sources/ManageBoards.php the spot where that damned semicolon is to change it and that should finish up all the converting.

[Unknown]

Probably in Themes/default/ManageBoards.template.php.

Yup thats where the bugger was. Have yet to find any more problems relating to the ;id so I zipped up all the modded files since I dont believe they are changed at all durring installation and have it available for download for anyone else that encounters this problem.

I'm trying to use your patch, but something in your sources folder is causing my board not to display the copytright message (thus saying it's illegal). Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
