How many moderators / global moderators in your forum?

My forum is about 2 months old.
Curently it has 5079 posts, 127 members, and 3 Global Moderators.

I'm thinking of selecting some of the members to be local moderators.

Should or should'nt I?

What is the ideal number of moderators / global moderators?

It really depends on if *you* are able to moderate all the topics and well. If I had that size I would elect around 3 moderators.

Remember moderators are someone you TRUST, they can delete/modify/move all topics.

My forum is double your size in posts and members. I have me (administrator), 2 global moderators, and 3 form staff members (made my own group with limited ability to move, split).

I have 3 mods, 1 global mod, and 1 auxiliary staff member w/ Mod abilities in select forums.

We haven't really had issues with people post stuff in the wrong forum or whatever... so my staff is there mainly to add content..and answer question.

You know.. stuff to keep activity up.

I think you should have as many as you can.

After I started giving out boards to their responsibility, they started to check forums 9 to 10 times/day when it was 2-3 times.

I don't have any Global mods. They are local mods in different boards.

how old is your forum?

forum is nearly 2 years old, i had no knowledge of software code, php etc, so yes it has taken a lot of effort to get just 1200 members...

I have over 112,000 posts and 3,000 members in 3 years. I have 4 admins, 2 Global Moderators, and no more Local Moderators. I think that'll hold us for a while.
