Moving day...

I exported the mysql ia phpmyadmin from the older server..

How do I import that file to the new server?

These are my options...

After that i just need to change the preference for the SMF forum?  Correct?  to access the new mysql?

You need to upload phpmyadmin and use that to import it back.

hmm it rejects it because of the password...  yet no place to put the password in in the import

What rejects what? You need to configure phpmyadmin to prompt for the database login. You'll also need to setup a database in your host control panel to import into.

If you select that created db in your phpMyAdmin does it present you with additional option to import. If you click the SQL button does that take you to a place to import.  Notice it only had export function on the screenshot, haven't seen that configuration before.

Once it's imported, and you've create a mySQL account/password to access it. You just put that new login details in your settings.php and run the Repair Settings tool:
