Want to send Automated emails when people respond to a post

Hi,
I love when i am on forums where i get an email sent to me when someone responds to my post. It makes me stay more active on the forum. Is this possible to do through SMF? Can anyone help me out?

Click Notify and you'll get this functionality on a per topic / board basis.

You can set this by default by going to Profile > Notifications and E-mail > Turn notification on when you Post or Reply to a topic

Is there any way to make this option more visible for members? Or even make it a default setting?

every member has their own notification settings in their profile (profile -> notifications)
