RSS feeds with user authentication is possible

Just a random thought here, and I thought I would leave a public message so everyone can partake in the  thinking out-loud process.

Basically RSS feeds from a restricted board would be possible with a referrer whitelist. Basically the user would add a list of ip addresses or urls from which a request can be made for a given board's RSS feed. The server would check the referrer whitelist and based on that and maybe an extra verification "passcode", give an RSS feed from a restricted board (which the user would otherwise have access to if they were logged in).

This might allow for things like RSS feeds on iGoogle.

I'd be all for something like this - I'd also like the ability to ban certain IPs from receiving the RSS feed (I have a problem that a competitor site is using the RSS feed to populate their blog and pass off the content as written by themselves).

Does anyone know of an RSS-recipient blacklisting mod?

I was hoping for more of a response to this, such as "no you're dumb here's why:" kind of thing, or "hey cool you could do it this way:"

blacklisting RSS recipients would be a neat mod as well. This would probably work well as an all-inclusive thing, being able to blacklist/whitelist. The only issue I would see is spoof prevention.
