So I can't give my bridge away?

Forumnoob,

You seem bent on disagreeing with everything that is stated...  and you are wrong.
(and now YOU are the one spreading FUD arguments)
The decision to pull the bridge had nothing to do with personalities...  the reasons were exactly as stated. Joomla informed the world about the interpretation of the GPL. SMF pulled the bridge because (as stated) we follow others' licenses just as we expect others to follow ours.
Whether you AGREE with that decision or not has no bearing on the matter and your comparison of the divorce doesn't match up in the least.

Whether OTHER people break the rules and violate licenses also has no bearing on the matter of what SMF chooses to do. Saying that there are extensions that violate the Joomla's interpretation of the GPL available is not a valid argument to create more such...
...and, encouraging others to violate license agreements DOES violate conduct rules on this and most other legal sites. Please don't do it again.

so what if I, as you say, "disagree" with you?

If you want unconditional love and a companion that licks your face, get a dog.

everything is as I have said it, tis bit of a stretch to be revisionist when the actual transcript of what transpired is STILL ON THE WEB.
Even Lewis (of Lewis Media, founder of SMF) alluded as much.

pah

your veiled threats dont bother me in the least

what a stretch :P

how about asserting that the VERY ACT OF HAVING A JOOMLA BRIDGE SUBFORUM - encourages people to bridge SMF with Joomla? (which is, by your convoluted logic - semi-illegal?)

Tis the third time you have posted dismay about me 'disagreeing with you'.
I suggest you get over it

(or dont)
<shrug>

p.s. @all...build your bridges, y'all! set 'em free! (just don't burn your bridges behind you :) )

Bigguy

Nobodies saying you can't disagree but there are nicer ways of doing it than what you are doing....don't you think.

As bigGuy says... no one says you can't disagree. My statement was to indicate that you seem bent on disagreeing with nearly everything, regardless of how flimsy you own argument is. In addition, yYou are just being extremely RUDE about it... and you are still wrong.

I don't care if you disagree with me. I do care about you confrontational and rude tone (which is uncalled for). I do care about you encouraging people to break the rules.

Also... I did not make any veiled threat. I stated that encouraging other to violate a license agreement goes against user agreements on most boards (including the T&C that you agreed to when you joined this forum). I then, very nicely, asked you not to do so.

That being said, I think this topic has exhausted the possibilities of this discussion. <click>
