Hello!

I've noticed this error on my error log which I believe is related to this mod...

Quote
forum/index.php?action=forum
8: Undefined variable: scripturl
File: /home/wnsecmxs/public_html/forum/Sources/BoardIndex.php
Line: 44

This is the section it is referring to...

Quote
42:      // Set a canonical URL for this page.
43:      if (!empty($modSettings['sp_portal_mode']) && $modSettings['sp_portal_mode'] == 1)
==>44:         $context['canonical_url'] = $scripturl . '?action=forum';
45:      else
46:         $context['canonical_url'] = $scripturl;

I understand this is code that the simple portal modification adds, but from the package parse information it's not critical.

Should I just remove / undo this code?  Or can you please advise if there is a better solution?

Thanks!

The edits are needed.
$scripturl is a global that should be located at the onset of that SMF function by default.
Although Simple Portal added the lines you posted, $scripturl should have been declared prior to using it.
Ensure that it is included in the list of globals at the beginning of the BoardIndex() function.

Maybe reading this will help you: How can I install a mod that doesn't work in my SMF version?

Even though I used the emulator for 2.0.14. I'm getting a test fail on the sources sub.

13.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Subs.php    Test failed
 9.    Replace    ./Sources/Subs.php    Test failed
2.0.15; default theme - curve.

How can I override the date/time format for the shoutbox? I'd like to simply have it display as [04/02/2019, 2:15pm], instead of Today/Yesterday etc. (I know this is a SMF setting but I'd like to not have it like this in the shoutbox).

Simpleportal  smf 2.1 When to remove compatible mode ?
When they finish a version that works for SMF 2.1, which likely won't be officially completed until after SMF 2.1 itself is fully released.

RC1 was released, not “final”.

RC is really just another label for “better beta”. And yes, you can wait for people to have the free time to update things, no one owes you anything.

You can use EhPortal, it's the same as Simple Portal only for SMF 2.1, it works with RC1, I use it on my forum and it works fine.

Or TinyPortal works on both 2.0.15 and 2.1 RC1

Install on 2.1 is hooks only, no file edits.

SMF 2.1 was not released. SMF 2.1 RC1 was released. RC stands for Release Candidate. It is not a final version, and its code can change. Those code changes can affect SimplePortal too.

Is there a way to make the search button appear on the right instead of the middle?
