This is a MOD I ported over from phpBB (phpBB Rivals) to work with SMF. As it stands, it does "work" but the package is still experimental and will have a few bugs, etc. Testers, comments and suggestions or donations are welcome :).

Thanks.

PS: Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, so please move if not.

Yeah, I figured I would post it here so it would get a little bit more of testers :)

is there a preview site?
No not atm, sorry. The package should easily install and uninstall for you if you want to just try it out.

Thanks.

Some suggestions:
-Integrate the rivals admin control panel with the SMF ACP.
-Add rankings to smf stats
-Add clan membership to profile/post details (with toggle in ACP)
-Give the rivals page some headers and other style structures, it looks quite bland

I'd also be interested in a separation of the clan system from this, if you could. I think quite a few people are looking for a member-created group system, and this could work well, if the code is clean and there is maximum integration with smf.

I wont be doing any type of integration into SMF (ie showing clans in user's profile, rivals acp in smf's acp) because it would just give me too much overhead when trying to update rivals to new SMF versions and such.

The style I am working on for next update, it should better look like it is with SMF.

With regards to a seperation, I'll think of it, it would be kinda hard for me to manage 3 MODs (phpBB/SMF Rivals and seperated version) on the limited time I do get to spend on coding.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I don't think the upgrades would really cause you much grief. They're usually pretty straightforward, it's unlikely that there would be changes to the code you'd add at all. Maybe a few tweaks or one little line here and there to change. Overall, though, the amount of code that's affected is really minimal, it's just well spread across the files.

The only thing that would change is if you upgraded it to 2.0. But, of course, that's a whole different version, and a lot of the code has been entirely rewritten. That I could see. But if you plan to stick to the 1.1.x line, I don't think you'd run into many problems.

Other issues, general inquires, etc and a recap...
*Merging the Admin Controls into the regular Admin section of the board.
*constant reverting back to the "forum" when it should revert back to the "rivals" section.
*If you are creating a clan, the user can type in NOTHING and a clan will still be created. There should be some kind of cap so that a "blank" clan cannot be created. You cannot access, edit, or delete this "blank clan" but it still shows up in the Admin Panel's overview of "clans created" where it shows how many clans are existing.
*Perhaps maybe work on some sort of "join clan, private clan, closed clan, open clan, clan listing, etc etc etc" setup feature for members/guests/etc. This would of course come AFTER the Admin Panel is moved.
*the "Find Clan" feature under the "Make a Challenge" section does not work. It does not find clans that is. I can type in the exact info, no info, partial info, anything and everything and it still will not find the clan.
*the "clan profile" window is all outta wack. It does not quite list everything that's inputted it seems.
*as far as I can tell, there is no way to see the tournaments after you create them. Like, no way to join them.
*a better "join ladder/join tournament" section might be better.
*other than the Admin reporting all the features I do not see how the regular clan teams or members can report match win/losses. I am assuming that this involves the ticket system but it's kinda unclear how to utilize it all.

*The point structure is 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and -1 for a loss correct?

Okay errors:

Invite Member Function under Clan Management:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: parse_bbcs() in .../home/FTPname/sitename/Sources/rivals/ccp_members.php line 67

When I try to do the ticket (new ticket) feature...and I still don't understand quite how that works...I upload anything...I get:

This repeats nonstop for like 5 pages. Do not know why:

This error occurs multiple times on several different lines, line 48, 64, 68, 75, 93 and more...:

This occurred once:

This occured a couple times throughout testing. I think I was editing or searching for clans here:

This occurred when I was searching for clans:

This I don't know why but it occurred a bunch of times too:

These were both when I was viewing clan profiles:

and

This was when I was messing with the Ticket Program:
2: array_unique(): The argument should be an array
File: .../home/FTPname/sitename/Sources/Subs-Post.php
Line: 755

These two errors I got BOTH at the same time when I tried to do an uninstall, along with the  unsuccessful uninstall:

When I entered in a correct clan name, it couldnt find it

When I invited a user, it gave me

Fatal error: Call to undefined function parse_bbcs() in /home/piestown/public_html/halotourneys.com/Sources/rivals/ccp_members.php on line 67

When I Enter a tourney, or try to click on it (same thing)

Fatal error: Call to a member function assign_block() on a non-object in /home/piestown/public_html/halotourneys.com/Sources/rivals/classes/class_tournament.php on line 230

Also, when you hit enter clan (and its blank) lol, it lets you enter it!

*Merging the Admin Controls into the regular Admin section of the board.
I will not be doing this, it would cause inconsistency in the code as I would have to actually use SMF's methods of displaying templates and such, not something I like.

*constant reverting back to the "forum" when it should revert back to the "rivals" section.
What do you mean by this? do you mean when you get the General Message screen you get kicked to the forum index?

Thanks for that notice, I'll fix that for next update.

The find clan feature will NOT show clans you own. IE: if you own a clan "Joe's Clan", it wont show up in the search. But if you are saying that clans you do not own are not showing up, then ill look into it :)

What is out of wack and what is not showing?

Click tournaments. There you should beable to sign-up/view them.

Explain please :)

Admins can report anything, yes. But, clans can report win/loss/tie for matches and tournaments in the Clan Control Panel. See Manage Challenge/Manage Matches and Manage tournaments. This is where clans can do reporting.

*The point structure is 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and -1 for a loss correct?
Yes, keeping it simple... however, in Rivals you have a choice to rank clans by their clan rating ((wins - loss) + 100) OR by their clan score (2 for win, 1 for tie, -1 for loss). So you can pick what to use.

Regarding your errors, thanks for the lengthy report and details ^^, I will get ontop of them tonight and hopefully push an update out tomorrow.

Thanks alot.
