Well I guess this is the best place to post this (apologies if not)

*C&P what I posted elsewhere :D*

QuoteHi all, I've just installed Joomla 1.5. I've got some experience with Joomla 1.0 here.

Anyway, I'm looking into setting up an online website for people, members, to post their work. It will be dedicated to cars modified in photoshop. I've had a look at image hosting galleries, and I have this at my disposal on the server I use:
http://www.spirewebsolutions.co.uk/4images/ (cant see upload area)
http://www.spirewebsolutions.co.uk/coppermine/ (cant see registration link)
http://www.spirewebsolutions.co.uk/gallery (seems best of the bunch, although requires a lot of disk space on server)

Then I got thinking, members could upload to somewhere like photobucket, flickr, deviant art etc, and then post on my site.

Was just wondering the best option for this? I thought Joomla could work ok. Is it possible to set up a category/section for each individual user, and the restrict their posting/publishing abilities to just that category? If so, that would be perfect!

If nothing like this is possible with Joomla, could point me in a direction that would make it possible?

cheers for readin

A few other things to mention, I have experience with SMF Boards and also TinyPortal. Is it possible to set up a kind of site thing on the front page? Or would it litterally be just one page?

Also, are there pluggins avaliable for registered users to have their own gallery?

Cheers,

Mat
