Membership registration approval question

I have had a big problem lately with spammers hitting my forum and posting porn sites, so I changed my Basic Forum Feature settings for Method of registration employed for new members to MEMBER APPROVAL.  If I have to go into it and approve members, I'm okay with that, but I wondered if it is set up to send me (administrator) an email when new members register and are awaiting registration approval or not.  I changed it and haven't received any emails, but have new members awaiting registration.

Any ideas on this or suggestions?

I believe you should be getting an email when a new member registers and awaits your approval as long as you have this setting enabled:

Admin / Registration / Settings / Notify administrators when a new member joins

Have you been receiving any other mailings from your site? PM notifications, subscription notices, etc? It might be a problem of all mail, and not that particular one. Check your junk mail as well.
