I messed up my index.php! Now What??

I somehow messed up my index.php and now my forum won't work. Is there a way I can load a new copy of this file, without messing up my database?

Replacing index.php with a fresh file from SMF isn't going to mess up your database. However if you had mods installed or custom modifications to that file then you will have to manually install the mods modification to that file to make the modules work. Basically, index.php controls ?action=blabla
