Mods install doesnt work

hi , i have a new 1.1.4 install with all rights on folders as they should..
but after trying a few installs of mods and showed as successfull...nothing is installed....,i mean no edits.
files arent replaced....no backup no edits nada..
anyone have an idea whats wrong?

If your not using the default theme you will have to manually insert the mod edits. With the new feature on the mod site you can view where to insert the mod codes.

What mods are you trying to install?
Do you notice any weird gaps in the admin panel display?

no...but like i said...not 1 php file is edited and backed up..

i tried AdvanceSEFurlsv1.2.3 , EasyEditMetaData_v1.0, HeaderRotator.v.1.1.0 , prettyurls-base_0_8_2

but nothing...

first it didnt even upload but from other forum here they suggested to create the temp folder in packages with a few byte file in it.
that solved the upload problem.
but nothing is installed....while it says it is installed..!
how can it say that...

Please do not bump within a 24 hour time period....

Go to Admin->Packages->Options and uncheck Create Backup versions of replaced files with a tilde (~) on the end of their names. Try installing a mod now.

nope....that didnt worked ..
i tried installing smf Gallery1.8.3 , but nothing , no gallery folder created , no php files found in the folders where they should be...., no edits done..
nothing..

No errors. This is maybe stupid question but how did you install the mods? Have you tried installing one manually?

yes i did...the pretty urls....,but theres no difference in the situation...
before i started to manually install the pretty urls the mods install didnt worked...,it was then when i decided to manually install pretty urls..

Post a link to your forum and a temporary admin access.

That could be a problem as there are people on and its in the dutch language...

Only the one who can speak/understand Dutch language can help you then. It's hard to find the problem without looking at the the forum itself.

When I install a mod, I download the mod in my PC and then I upload the mod to my server in Packages folder, then I go to Admin -> Packages -> Browse Packages and click [Apply Mod]. Then the mod will install in the default theme if no failed test.  Have you tried that?

well that didnt worked as well.
i does prove that the smf-installer is just crap.
i mean, c'mon...it installs...,it ignors a few languages cause the site is dutch...but still nothing is edited and the installer says installed...
the installer seems to be to stupid enough that it cannot recognize failure..
and this all on a new 1.1.4 install..

It's not a proof that the installer is a crap because I know there are forum out there that uses Dutch language and have no issue like yours. I hope someone can help you with this.

If you still have issues with mod installations on your forum, feel free to PM me the FTP login you normally use, as well as a temporary SMF admin account info. Change the FTP password first.
