phpbb2 smf changes [code] to [code:1]

I've converted over a number of forums and always had the same problem, but none of them had a lot of postings so it was no big deal to fix manually.

Now I am doing one that uses a lot of code samples and all of the

[ code ]

are being changed to

[ code:1 ]

I seem to recall that other BBCode was change like that as well.

Where is the :1 coming from and how do I get rid of it.

Hmm... Is the bbcode_uid for everything "1"?  Does this happen for signatures too?

In the other ones, all bbcodes seemed to be :1

This particular forum does not have signatures.  It is an internal Knowledge Database forum.

Another thing I've noticed is that any message that had 2 or more attachments, didn't make it either, but it looks like every message that had a single attachment did.

Strange... the attachments are converted after the fact, so they shouldn't affect conversion like that...?

But, I meant, in the database, on the posts_text (or is it post_text?) table, there's a column named "bbcode_uid".  Generally, this is a code that goes in all the bbc - e.g. [code:whateverthatis]...[/code:whateverthatis].  If it's 1, then the converter is broken.  If it's 2, then the converter is working as planned, but that way is wrong.

Hmmm... never noticed that field before.  Looking at one that I have sitting here, it is a much larger number than 1 or 2...

Not sure I understand its purpose.

The bbcode_uid is the second field.

I went ahead and dealt with this the same way I have with the other boards.

I did the conversion and then exported the messages file into a text file, and did mass search and replaces for the problem areas.

These included:

[code:1]
[list:u] - Needed to add [/li]'s manually

Alse as mentioned before, none of the attachments that were converted worked if the attachment had more than 1 per message.

I also had some that simply didn't come across, but I'm not sure why.

I will be updating them manually as there are only 30 or so of them.

Okay, that's it, I'm going to have to ask for access to your server.  I swear something is going horribly wrong... because everything *LOOKS* right.  But, here, I see:

[code:1:uid]?  Grr.  So probably replace :uid and :1:uid?

And list has "u" in it?  Can you show me the tag from phpBB's database?

I think some of these issues are caused by upgrades... because I did testing with a bunch of tags with a clean install.  That's why I'm asking for *temporary* access to your server, so I can fix the converter properly *and* get you converted properly.

If you can't give me that access, it's okay.  I'll at least fix the code issue.... and I'll definitely look into the attachments.

 ! phpBB converter now handles code sections and some other bbcode better. (phpbb2_to_smf.php)

Still not sure I fixed all problems.

Well, the latest version is on the downloads page.  I didn't fix the list issue (need more test cases), but I did fix the code one and possibly others.
