Archiving Information

I have a forum that has a lot of useful shared information on it but it seems to all get lost in the shuffle and I see new members posting new topics looking for the same information.

Has anyone had any success with keeping a sort of wiki of the information in a forum or is there a way to link an SMF forum to another program so information is sort of entered automatically?
