hi,
is their a plugin out to upgrade an smf board 1.14 to 2.0 beta 3.1?

karlbenson

You can't upgrade via the Package Manager.
The changes are extensive.

You need to get the full upgrade download from the downloads section.
It will replace most files, so you'll lose any customizations/mods you have made/have installed.

Then you run the upgrade.php

i didn't found it for  smf 2.0 beta 3.1

it tells me
The upgrader found some old or outdated files.

Please make certain you uploaded the new versions of all the files included in the package.

You can find the download here:

About half way down you will see one for smf 2.0 Beta3.1 public, under that you will see large upgrade. That is the file you want.

Good Luck.

Then it looks like all of the files didn't get uploaded to your host.  You should try uploading again, and test a few to make sure they are from SMF 2.0 ( look at the top of the source code of the files)

I just checked the large upgrade package to update to 2.0b3.1 and it still has the same bug/oversight in upgrade.php which completely prevents it from working. I'm a bit boggled that it hasn't been fixed yet, since it's been a problem ever since the 2.0b3.1 release. ::)
The same sort of bug afflicts the 1.1.5 large upgrade package as well, the last I saw (haven't re-checked it).

Reyd, follow the directions in this post:

Just a few simple mistakes sm has made.

Don't get me wrong, I love 'em to death. I consider SMF just about tied for best forum software with vBulletin, and easily the overall best free forum software by a long shot. SMF is very well written and maintained, and even their public betas tend to be almost rock solid.
In fact, that's really why it boggles my mind that this one has slipped by without being fixed for so long. :P

It has been fixed they just haven't added the fix :p

The 1.1.5 package was rebuilt a couple of weeks ago.

I've requested to the developers for the 2.0 package to be rebuilt.  Thanks for your patience

With the linked fix or re-downloaded fixed package were you able to successfully upgrade your forum Reyd?
