Database problem

Hello,

I have a SMF 1.1.5 forum and a new website using the SMF 2 forum (latest edition).

I have copied the 1.1.5 database to a new name and want to use this database (parts of it) in the new website. Problem is now that SMF 2 cannot work with the SMF 1.1.5. database.

In the new website i have installed SMF 2 from scratch so no upgrade

How can i get this to work properly?

make a upgrade form 1.15 to 2.0 beta 3.1 they released a patch but with a wrong upgrade.php
replace it with this

but i have not installed SMF 1.1.5. on the new website. I only want to use the renamed database that was made with SMF 1.1.5

locjan, please start your own topic.

ORGANPORTAL, unless I'm missing something, you need to do this:
1) install SMF 1.1.5 in a separate directory;
2) use repair_settings.php to make the SMF 1.1.5 installation use the new database; verify that it works.
3) run repair_settings.php again to fix paths and URLs.
4) upgrade this forum to 2.0 Beta 3.1.
5) repeat steps 2) and 3), but for the original 2.0 Beta 3.1 forum that you installed from scratch and the new database.

The reason is that the database structure has changed in SMF 2.0, so you need to upgrade it in order to use it with SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1.

Hope it helps. Be sure to get database backups for both forums before doing the above.
