Help Needed: Forum Title Removal

Hi guys. I'm new to SMFs, and just downloaded and installed the version 1.1.5 and everything seems easy to configure except for one thing. I want the main forum title erased and possibly insert a banner of some sort. Ive searched the forum, tried a bunch of code editing, and after 2 hours, I give up. 

Anyway, I have here a screen shot of my forum.




I've also attached my index.template.php. I'm thinking a code just needs to be deleted then added? I know this is easy for you guys so why don't you help a beginner like me?

If you want to change your forum name, go to Admin > Server Settings. In Core Configuration tab, enter new forum name in "Forum Title" text box.

or do what i did and reduce the text to 0 so it will not show over your banner

disregard the last post. just found out style.css had the code for title-text adjustment. thanks JohnyB and gadgetrader!
