Massive problem upgrading

hi there.

been having the same problem over the last few days with upgrading to beta.

i have been trying thins with a pactice forum and not a live one.

i tried the install as a new forum, followed the instructions and upload smf 2.0 beta 3.1 though my ftp (took about an hour)

followed the rest of instuctions and it seemed to work.

problem is that all i have is a main front page of the forum and when you try to click on any thing ie log in, log out, profile well any thing! i get internet explorer can not display web page.

what have i done wrong?

is there anything in the error log for the webserver (you may need to ask your host about it -- but if its cPanel on the host it should be "error logs" inside it)?  does it do the same in other browsers?

just in the process of doing yet another upload on the ftp, i will check how it works in another browser and check error logs too.

i take it back about being dumb! ha ha

i had a look at the things you spoke about, when i got to the smf installer i figured i had not even made a data base for it lol
