it downloads packag, but when i click on a script: Apply Mod
it gives me such error:

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable! anny ideas?

Sounds like you may have some weird server settings...,  try creating a dir called temp inside the packages folder and chmod it to 777..See if that works. If not try another FTP program.

How about the /backups directory inside /packages.  is it set to 777?

You can try setting the owner of all files to the user that the web server is running as. Note that this might break FTP manipulation in that area.
