Themes question

I share my forum with a few websites, and each of them will have their own themes in the forum. These websites will link to the forum using something like http://url/forum/index.php?theme={sitename} so guests or users clicking the link from site A will use the site A's template.

My question is, when a guest is using Theme A, and he/she registers in the forum. Will his/her theme setting becomes A or the default forum setting? Is the theme setting for guests stored in a cookie or is it only temporary (per session)?

[Unknown]

Actually, I plan to probably store it in a cookie or session, but right now (unless I am remembering completely wrong) it is per click - meaning, it goes away if theme= isn't in the URL.

I know that you're going to want to set the theme up for guests, etc. so I do plan on using a session or cookie variable.

yes, and i also mean when the guest registers, his/her current theme selection will be stored in his/her settings, instead of the default theme and then delete the cookie for the theme

well i guess i can do that part myself, but it will be nice if its also a built-in feature

another suggestion: make a var that stores or function that prints a dropdown menu to choose the style, so it can be used somewhere in the template
example: http://www.monkey-pirate.com/php/ysemods/

Another question:

IF I select calssic theme here, the SMF navigation bar on the left and right will be dissappeared. Is this a bug?

No it's not a bug, the classic theme has not been coded to have the site wrapped around it.

As I've not toyed around with this yet... can I set it up such that Membergroup A has theme A and Membergroup B has theme B, etc?

As we are also composed of several websites, I *think* that may be a cool feature... is that something that is implemented in the infamous template system?

[Unknown]

Currently, no... but that's exactly the stuff I'm planning to mess with after I'm done with the administration stuff I'm working on now.

Also permissions for themes, probably, like which groups can access it or at least if it's admin only... not sure yet, still in the crockpot.
