First off let's start with this. I get done installing and I get this.

Congratulations, the installation process is complete!

If at any time you need support, or SMF fails to work properly, please remember that help is available if you need it.

Your installation directory is still writable. It's a good idea to chmod it so that it is not writable for security reasons.

Click here to delete this install.php file now. (doesn't work on all servers.)

Now you can see your newly installed forum and begin to use it. You should first make sure you are logged in, after which you will be able to access the administration center.

Good luck!

So I click there to delete the php thingy, and i get this

Unknown column 'variable' in 'field list'

Then I delete it manually outta my FTP and i get the same error. Help

The "variable" column is part of the "settings" table.

The best way to fix this is to drop the table then run install.php again to recreate the table and insert all the default settings.

To delete the table, run this query in phpMyAdmin:

DROP TABLE smf_settings;

Then re-upload install.php and run it again (assuming the sql files are still there - if not, upload those as well).
