Downloading themes delete my ads and header??

I am a newbie... I installed the AD Mod and had it working and also change the logo on the header to my logo.  Then I decided to change to a downloaded theme.  When  I change to that theme my header is gone and so are my ads.  When I change back to a basic theme they are there again???
What am I doing wrong???

I have tried the Black Box and the Blackboard theme.

For custom themes, you have to manually perform edits for your mods. This involves some work, you can either use the "Manual Install Instructions for SMF" function on the download and then perform the '$themedir/' edits, or you could ask about it in the support topic for that particular mod.
