Attach an image from a URL

I need to be able to attach images by inserting the URL to an image. Not inline images but attachments.

Cant you achieve this by using [img][/img] tags? Although its not a attachment it has the same effect.

I can doing it that way but typically we attach images and let it create a thumbnail. If ALL our images are attachments it lends to continuity. It's not a huge deal since the inline images can be side by side rather than stacked like the attachments.

I am want something like that because I have a tutorial site... so upload all images by FTP, get all links and after that use BBC to add images its a pain.
The Articles from TinyPortal is great to this but only works for the articles.

Someone with a good idea?
