Forum.

How do I get it so when the mouse is placed over a certain board name and description it changes colour? (on the main forum page)

Tristan Perry

You mean like what they have on Proboards? That's done using Javascript, although currently no theme author has decided to do this, I'd love it as well!  :)

Fanta

Yeah, what they have at ProBoards. ;) Anyone willing to make this?

I believe the proper term is "cell highlight." And I know for a fact this can be done using PHP, as I've seen many vBulletin and IPB forums have cell highlight.

FYI, you *can't* do mouseover effects with PHP because PHP is a server-side language. So you need a client-side alternative, which often means JavaScript but can sometimes be achieved through clever CSS applied to a:hover.

Oh sorry, didn't know that. So, on vB and IPB, it'd be coded in JavaScript?

Haven't looked at one recently, but almost certainly (although pure CSS rollovers can be fun).
