SMF v1.1.5 or v2 - What should I use?

I am currently looking at starting a new forum, I already have one using SMF v1.1.5 and would like to use SMF for the new one, I find it much more versatile than other forum software and the search function if used correctly is second to none. As v2 is still in Public Beta testing, I'm inclined to go for v1.1.5.

I have a question though:
If I do use v1.1.5 would upgrading to v2 be a simple "upgrade" procedure (when it has completed testing), or would it mean a new software upload, set-up etc.

It depends on how well you may be able to cope with bugs, and accept that some bugs may not be fixed immediately upon finding and reporting them (we do have a bug tracker, however)

I would reccommend using 1.1.5 if you require stability or higher mod support.

the 1.1 > 2.0 upgrade process is very similar to the process from 1.0>1.1 -- it is a large upgrade, not a package manager -- meaning you overwrite all SMF files save for Settings.php, and then run upgrade.php.

Thanks for the advise, very useful. As the upgrade sounds as though it should be straight forward I think I'll go for 1.1.5
