What about 1.1.5 Mods when going to 2.x?

When upgrading to 2.x, how should one handle installed 1.1.5 mods? Should they all be removed first? Or can any and all mods be left installed? What if the mod author says the mod you are using is only compatible with 2.x, is it up to the user to remove it first? Or does 2.x "know" what to do with it?

when you upgrade to 2.0, you'll have to replace the files with new copies.  This will automatically remove all modifications.  this is true of the 1.1 > 2.0 upgrades as well as the upgrades between the betas, rc's, and the final version -- after that updates will be handled much the same as they are 1.1.

mods for 1.1.5 will mostly not work on 2.0, and 2.0 mods most likely wont work on 1.1.5.  This is especially true if they do database queries.

I hope that answers your question :)

Yea if it's automatic and I don't have to do anything then that's fine. So no matter what mods you had, you end up with a new clean SMF install, sounds like.

Thanks.
