I installed wordpress in the root folder

Made a folder /forum/ and installed smf there.

Install went well

But /forum/index.php shows up as a 404 error in my wordpress.

I'm sure this is a common newbie fail, but please help me.

Welcome to SMF< magnus3994.
Download and run repair_settings.php (What is repair_settings.php?) and ensure that the path to all SMF files are correct. The recommended values right below every field usually serve right.
Did you actually create /forum/ (with the trailing "/" - I'm not sure if that could be the problem but I'd put forward recommendations to get rid of the trailing slash and correct the update using repair_settings.php
