There is no word count unless your using a modification. Can you please share more information?

He might mean the number of characters allowed in a post.

AdminCP->Posts and Topics->Post Settings=> Maximum allowed post size

But you'll still be limited by the maximum character limits of the text (2¹⁶) type the body field in your _messages table.
