I've migrated from IPB 2.2.3 to SMF 1.1.5. The migration was succesful, but before the migration I modified the forum, and then integrated the BD of the old forum. Now, with the DB convert, the forum goes very slow and many times show me this error:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later

¿There is any solution to this problem?

Did you contact your host?

A database error is something related to your server having issues talking to the database.
This could be something as simple as a incorrect mysql password.

Do you use "persistent Connections" for MySQL? In shared Hosting environments it may be critical:

in SMF:
Admin - Server Settings - Use a persistent connection << disable the checkbox

I contact to my hosting, but they say that everything's fine. About the persistent connection, i've got it disable.

Do you have access to the server error logs or is you host able to provide those?

That error only occurs when SMF can't connect to the database (which includes using the database).
