XHTML Template into SMF Template

Ok so I bought this hxxp:www.4templates.com/view/website-templates/12/AX0335RD [nonactive] and it came with all the bells and whistles like: 2 .css files and 4 .html files, images...etc.

I currently have an up and running SMF/TP webserver on my PC and would like some advice/guidence on how to either convert the xhtml or merge the 2 into 1?

I know beginner level php/xhtml but I'm eager to learn. I understand the importance of the index.template.php for SMF to function, but not sure what to cut and paste into it. And same for the style.css

List of files that came with the theme:

default.css
layout.css
hompage.html
subpage1.html
subpage2.html
subpage3.html

So you can see thats a lot of code to be moving around. If you need to look at the code I can post it, but just some general guidence is really what I'm after. Thank you in advance.
