this should help, it works with joomla from 1.10x to 1.1.12:

vesions after joomla 1.1.12 have a different password encryption, so the old passwords will not work.. if you have a newer version please give a short responce..

this are the real passwords? you can insert them into smf_members table without changing. SMF is able to read clear-text passwords and will change them during first logon from a member..
