Mr ChriZ

Do charter members have Beta 4 as yet?
If not will they receive it before standard users, also what tends to be the time gap between charters receiving it and standard users receiving it.

I'm using Beta 3 on a live system because it is so much better for what I'm doing than 1.1.5
However at the same time it's a bug bear with much of the wysywysywysg editor bugs.  So looking forward to Beta 4!

Apologies if this is answered else where, I couldn't find it.

I would be also interested in the schedule, as to when each version of the distribution works. Your insight is appreciated.

Yes, Charter Members should have access to beta 4 now. Charter Membership grants users to have beta versions prior to the public release. There is usually no time table for this.

H

CM's have had beta4 since the 20th August :). We intend to release it to everyone soon

Mr ChriZ

Thanks for the replys!
Looking forward to Beta 4!

Does it have the new default theme we've heard about ?

karlbenson

It has some semantic templates. (re-written html with less tables, more css)
But it looks exactly like the 2.x and 1.1.x default core theme.

Ah right well I'm sure I seen one of the team say it would be different.  He said it wouldn't be the same as this one but still different

Have thoroughly enjoyed exploring beta 3 but am also interested in seeing the  improvements in the next version, hopefully some of the issues with Beta 3 will be solved, particularly in relation to spam control.

Anyone know if the existing mods would work on this new/old html theme ?

H

Most likely they'll need to be adapted for the semantic template.

Thanks H,  whats the usual turn around from new beta to CM to public ?.  I don't want to upgrade my forum again if beta 4 is days away

karlbenson

As stated in other topics, I expect Beta 4 Public to be released soonish.

Although we have to fix any niggling issues that Charter members may have found, first.

Beta 4 is available for download : )

Thanks SMF Team for your hard work.
