I'm trying to convert IP Board 2.3.3 to SMF, and I got this error while converting...

This query:

    INSERT INTO `larry_test`.smf_epccategories
    (ID_CAT, name, catOrder)
    VALUES ('188', 'EPCGaming.com', '1'),
    ('640', 'epcgaming.com - CD Key Trading', '9'),
    ('497', 'EPCGaming.com - Games', '4'),
    ('648', 'Battlefield Series', '3'),
    ('644', 'Call of Duty Series', '2'),
    ('518', 'EPCgaming Admins ONLY', '5'),
    ('649', 'General Discussion', '4');

Caused the error:

When I do the recount thing, it asks for my username and password, and it says "because of security upgrade, password changed". How do I get my password?

Please do not say press the "forgot password" button...

Ok, I did your recount category, and that did not help, and the fix below with phpmyadmin, I do not get how to do.

You said the Fix is this:
Quote
Fix: The fix is quiet simple, you use phpMyAdmin to alter the smf_categories and smf_boards for their ID_CAT (id_cat in SMF 2.0+) to hold a bigger value. A bigint of 4 should due just fine in most cases.

Please Help...

ThorstenE

go to phpMyAdmin, execute the following query in the SQL-Window:

ALTER TABLE `smf_categories` CHANGE `ID_CAT` `ID_CAT` BIGINT( 4 ) UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT;

change smf_ to your database prefix..

after changing this you can restart the conversion.

After I converted it, the Categorys went invisible.

Here is the IP Board.
Here is the kind of messed up SMF.

Also, I can't see the the Boards when I go to "Modify Boards" in the Admin CP, but I can see the categorys there... lol

SleePy

Did you get this fixed? I viewed your SMF forum and I see the board there fine.

What version of IPB are you using?
Which converter files did you use (just incase they might of been older ones)?

It is not fixed. I am about to reconvert again. My smf for is messed up. Look at the IP board category's (Call of Duty, Battlefield) and you will see they are missing on my SMF board.

covert.php

Can I please talk to you via MSN sleepy?

I had to re-convert because a newer database (new posts and members), and I got this error when converting...

QuoteConverting members... Successful.
Converting categories... Successful.
Converting boards... Successful.
Converting topics... Unsuccessful!
This query:

    SELECT
    t.tid AS ID_TOPIC, t.pinned AS isSticky, t.forum_id AS ID_BOARD,
    t.starter_id AS ID_MEMBER_STARTED, t.last_poster_id AS ID_MEMBER_UPDATED,
    pl.pid AS ID_POLL, t.posts AS numReplies, t.views AS numViews,
    MIN(p.pid) AS ID_FIRST_MSG, MAX(p.pid) AS ID_LAST_MSG,
    t.state = 'closed' AS locked
    FROM (`larry_test`.epc_topics AS t, `larry_test`.epc_posts AS p)
    LEFT JOIN `larry_test`.epc_polls AS pl ON (pl.tid = t.tid)
    WHERE p.topic_id = t.tid
    GROUP BY t.tid
    HAVING ID_FIRST_MSG != 0
    AND ID_LAST_MSG != 0
    LIMIT 0, 250;

Caused the error:

    Table 'larry_test.epc_topics' doesn't exist

Please Help, I am dieing...

ThorstenE

the error means: a table named "epc_topics" does not exist in your ipb database?!? can you check this with phpMyAdmin? maybe you are using the wrong conversion files.

for ipb 2.3 this should work:

codnerd

im using what I used before.

invision23_to_smf.sql

SleePy

Yes but that file may be newer than the one you have (The downloads page does get out of sync as we make changes faster than there is SMF releases).

That error is saying the ipb table that holds the topic information is missing.

When I ran recount_categorys.php, I got this error:

Duplicate entry '5' for key 1
File: /var/www/vhosts/epcgaming.com/subdomains/larry/httpdocs/smf/recount_categories.php
Line: 288

Try this one out. The is the cleanup step from all the changes it did. I think most likely it is due to adding the auto column back.
