Thank you very much for your reply. I attached three pictures, I am not for sure they can be shown. The SMF 2.017, SMF-Articles 3.0.3b works, but 3.0.4 does not. I attached the screenshot when  'Articles' button is selected, and screenshot of permissions (3.0.4 at SMF 2.0.17).
For SMF version 2.1 RC, 3.0.4 did not work at first, after I installed 3.0.3b and created two categories, then uninstall 3.0.3b, reinstalled 3.0.4, 3.0.4 works.
Both logged in users are administrator. ( I tested global moderator, got the same results.)

For permissions was asking about the permissions on the category level

The SMF-Articles is the only package installed.
3.0.3b version, there is:
Add Category - Add Article - Settings -  Permissions
but 3.0.4 ( installed at SMF 2.0.17) there is no such thing.
In Admin, "Articles Configuration" is missing at 3.0.4 (installed in SMF 2.0.17).
There is no way to add a category.
The first picture showed what happened after "Articles" button was clicked in my last reply.

Ok looks like an edit failed to the index.php file for SMFarticle3.04.jpg
It should not redirect back to the board index

Upload the package to https://www.smfhacks.com/smf-package-parser.html to find the edits and make sure the files are copied to the right places.

This time it works.
I downloaded SMF-articles 3.0.4 again, and reinstalled it to SMF 2.0.17.
I checked my PC's file manager, it showed my old SMF-articles 3.0.4 was downloaded on April 17th, this year.
SMF-articles 3.0.3b was downloaded on March 29th, this year.

Fixed with new update posted.
Looks like those were coming from an old url format. I check for that format now and in either case don't log that error.
