want to change the new post icon from the smf theme to another picture, how do i do this?

on.gif => for unread board
on2.gif => for a read board, having an unread child board
off.gif => for unread board

Change them with the images you want.

i cant change the files to .gif, is there a script that i can change the name/location of the pictures to?

../Themes/your_theme/MessageIndex.template.php
../Themes/your_theme/Help.template.php

files, you should search for those and replace the extention as you whish.

on internet explorer it is not working, and on mozzilla the images are huge

now i have two problems...i need to shrink the pictures, and get them to show on explorer

Shrinking the pictures should be done by adding width="XXpx" height="XXpx" to the IMG tag, I think.

I may be wrong as I haven't had a closer look at the actuall code affecting all this.
Maybe I should just let [SiNaN] handle this

ok so one problem delt with, the pics work and i shrunk them...now for my admin page why cant i see them? does anyone know

You should resize the image with a picture editor if you want it to look better rather than just using HTML to resize them.

ok so i was using a different theme than my main forum and i put the pictures ont he default theme instead of mine. but my theme doesnt have the same files as the default, it only has like 4 files. now what.

You should just edit the ones that are available on your custom theme. Others are gathered from default theme.

But as a note, you should copy those images to your custom themes' images directory too.
