Hello,
Basicly what should happen...
In the new topic or post section the displayed smileys when clicked should add code to the post so it will then display.

What does happen...
The code isnt being inserted into the post when a smiley is clicked.

eg.
:) <--- I clicked the smiley above the post box and the code posted into the post.
:)

ps. I do have custom smileys installed. The have been set up right and display fine!

Possible bug? or am i an idiot?

i see that you're getting a javascript error on the page.  i'm no good personally with javascript debugging.  Does it happen to occur in the default theme?

The default theme works fine. :(
In the bottom left it says theres an error (javascript) like you said. I get that error when im in the admin panel & when im adding a new reply.

Are they connected in someway? Hope that helps pin point the problem.

**My template itself is an older version. When I upgraded my SMF i thought it updated the template aswell?**

it attempts to but isn't always able to do it properly -- especially with the level of javascript changes in 2.0 as well.  I am leaning toward that causing the issue -- im sorry, i don't know anything about JS debugging :x

edit: how'd you fix it?

Because of 2.0 & the changes that was made to the location of the script.js the older template was basicly looking for the script.js but couldnt find it.
So i pointed the template to the location of the script.js and it all seems to be working.

Thanks alot metallica! You actually put me on the right track with the javascript issue which inturn lead me to the fix :)

RetroRumblers

Hi All,

I'm having the same problem. I'm not able to select the smileys after the upgrade.
Can anyone share in detail or post a fix? Yes, which template file did you have to change to point to script.js... When you say point, what do you mean? Path within the file (which one) or did you change the physical directory of the file?

Oh yeah, I'm only on version 1.1.5 from the 1.1.2 upgrade. Not even on the beta 2.0.

Thanks all! :)

RetroRumblers, if you could, please start a new topic for your question.  Most of the time, topics that are marked solved do not get reviewed by the support team -- i happened to click into this one.

In it, please link to your board.
