MK Portal smf integration.... changing the smf template

i have my forum integrated in mk v0.5... How do i do that with the userinfo, searchblock, keystats and news block???
I only want to have the menu and not those blocks
I try to modify index,template.php  but i still get parse errors....

do i have to delete the parts from my own template and leave the default template like it is..
